This is an appeal for all members of the chess community and the general public to come to the assistance of one of our young talented players, Della-Marie Walcott, a 14 yr-old student of St. Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain.
On December 22, 2015 Della-Marie Walcott had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a cyst and tumor hat developed on her brain stem. Della-Marie, however, still remains in ICU over 27 days later and is currently in a coma. Della-Marie’s mother, Debra, serves as Treasurer of the TTCA. Friends and family, in collaboration with the TTCA will be hosting fund raising ventures in support of Della-Marie and her family. The first initiative is a Curry Q $45 per ticket, redeemable at Hott Shoppe.
