After hours of fight, Duncan and Sears reach a draw in an amazing match. Sears won a pawn and felt sure he had a win with his 2 knights against Duncan’s 2 bishops, but it was not to be. Duncan never gave up and took half point from Sears.
Meanwhile the gods smiled on CM Daryl Davis as he escaped from the tournament’s only female, Shannon Yearwood. Shannon, after defeating Duncan and holding Sears to a draw, blundered in a winning position against Davis. Now, the tournament is wide open as after 3 games, there are 4 players on 2.5 points and 5 players with 2 points.
