The National Chess Championships 2015 came to an end on Sunday 1st November, 2015.
It is with pleasure that I now report on the final results.
T&T has a new National Absolute Champion! CM Kevin Cupid.
Kevin definitely left his mark on this year’s tournament where he won 8 games, drew two and lost one to end on 9 points.
He was followed by FM Joshua Johnson on 8 points and CM Adrian Winter Atwell on 6.5 points.
It is worthwhile to mention that NM Anderson Gordon and FM Mario Merritt also attained 6.5 points and came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Once again WCM Aditi Soondasingh demonstrated her dominance in the sport, by capturing her 9th National Women’s title. She played unbeaten and ended on 8 points with 7 wins and 2 draws.
The top 5 performances are as follows:
1. WCM Aditi Sooondarsingh 8.0 points
2. WFM Javanna Smith 7.5 points
3. Shannon Yearwood 7.5 points
4. WCM Gabriella Johnson 7.0 points
5. Shemilah James 4.5 points

I invite you to the Closing Ceremony which will be held at 7.00 p.m. on Saturday 7th November, 2015 at Rhand Credit Union, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.
An invitation is also extended for players to participate in the National Blitz Championship which takes place earlier at 5.00 p.m. at the same venue. Registration Fee is $50.00 .
