{"id":896,"date":"2017-03-28T11:49:55","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T15:49:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chesstt.org\/home\/?p=896"},"modified":"2018-12-11T19:29:07","modified_gmt":"2018-12-11T23:29:07","slug":"national-youth-and-junior-chess-champions-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chesstt.org\/home\/national-youth-and-junior-chess-champions-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"NATIONAL YOUTH AND JUNIOR CHESS CHAMPIONS 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Trinidad and Tobago Chess Association concluded its National Junior (Under 20) Championships which was held at the Pan American Life building, St Vincent Street, Port of Spain in January 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The Absolute section saw twelve (12) participants all vying to be champion of the chess board after seven (7) rounds of intense play.<\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>At the end, there was a three-way tie for first place on six (6) points. Alan-Safar Ramoutar of Naparima Boys&#8217; College however reigned supreme on tie breaks. In second place was FM Isaiah McIntosh of Presentation College, San Fernando and third was FM <a class=\"profileLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100004094070223\" data-hovercard=\"\/ajax\/hovercard\/user.php?id=100004094070223\" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show=\"1\">Joshua Johnson<\/a> of Fatima College.<\/p>\n<p>The Female section comprised (5) participants and four (4) rounds. WFM <a class=\"profileLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/gabriella.johnson.7165\" data-hovercard=\"\/ajax\/hovercard\/user.php?id=100007023882853\" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show=\"1\">Gabriella Johnson<\/a> of St Joseph Convent, Port of Spain triumphed over the competition with a perfect score of four (4) points. WCM Shemilah James of St Francois Girls&#8217; College was second on three (3) points and there was a 3 way tie for third among Marliyah Mason-Philips, Zara La Fleur and Sadiqah Razark. Marliyah came in 3rd on the tie break.<\/p>\n<p>NATIONAL YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONS<\/p>\n<p>The National Youth Chess Championships took place at the National Cycling Velodrome in Couva over the first week in January.
