The Trinidad and Tobago International Masters and Open Chess Tournaments began\u00a0on a really high note\u00a0with an Opening Ceremony which featured: the President of the National Olympic Committee, Brian Lewis, the Chairman of the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Michael Phillips, the Manager Marketing and Member Relations, Rhand Credit Union ( Sponsor), Haile Caruth and the Honourable Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Ivor Archie O.R.T.T.!<\/p>\n

The guests were also treated to a pan medley by Akeil George.<\/p>\n

The Honourable Chief Justice brought the house down with his opening moves against the No. 1 rated player, Grand Master Elshan Moradiabadi. Fortunately for us, he was captivated by the game and spent more time than he had planned:-) What a wonderful tribute to us and to chess!<\/p>\n
