The seminar targets those who wish to become chess arbiters or already have moderate practice in the field.
The objective is to learn foundational concepts and techniques, so that the participants get enough background to officiate as an arbiter on their own and build their experience before aiming for the international levels (FIDE Arbiter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The topics covered in the seminar are :
\u2022 Chess Arbiter: an introduction to the duties and responsibilities
\u2022 The Laws of Chess
\u2022 Organising a Chess Tournament
\u2022 Using an Electronic Chess Clock
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Duration: 8 hours, split into 2 sessions of 4 hours + practice in tournament
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lecturer will be Laurent FREYD, International Arbiter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Laurent has 25 years of experience as an arbiter, including more than 15 years as a lecturer, first in France and then internationally. He has held various positions in chess governing bodies, national and international. In particular, he chaired the FIDE Arbiters\u2019 Commission between 2018 and 2022 and leads an ambitious policy in the training sector. His ultimate goal is to improve the player experience in tournaments through contact with well-prepared arbiters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
