Please be advised that the funeral service for Della Marie Walcott will take place this Saturday 18th July, 2020 at 8:00 am at Church of Nativity in Diego Martin. Due to the COVID restrictions and number of persons permitted the service will be streamed live for those who wish to participate using the following link provided. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Della-Marie Walcott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Della-Marie was a former National Youth Chess Champion, multiple medal winner at various regional chess tournaments and a two-time member of the Trinidad and Tobago women\u2019s chess team at the World Chess Olympiad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Della-Marie was in a coma for approximately four and a half years due to complications that arose after a brain surgery she had in December 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Debra Walcott, Della-Marie\u2019s mother, was a former member of the TTCA Executive and still serves as an executive member of the Valkyries Chess Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the TTCA, we extend sincere condolences to Debra and Dominic (Della-Marie\u2019s father) and her brother Alex, also a former chess player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May she rest in eternal peace and may God grant serenity and comfort to her family.
