We are so recognised by the Ministry of Sports, by the Trinidad &amp; Tobago Olympic Committee and by the World Chess Body, the FIDE.<\/p>\n<p>We have been in existence since 1936&nbsp;and have made several strides since then. We have several international recognised masters including: 1 International Master, 8 FIDE Masters; 13 Candidate Masters, 3 Woman FIDE Masters, &nbsp;and 3 Women Candidate Masters. We have over 100 players with an internationally recognised ranking, &nbsp;of whom are active. This is the most among the English Speaking Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>Vishnu Singh is our only International Master and our top ranked player is Ryan Harper, a FIDE Master. Ryan&nbsp;is also a well known coach and produces a chess magazine which is subscribed to around the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>Trinidad &amp; Tobago also has&nbsp;International Arbiter in Mr. Russell Smith. He is also the General Secretary of FIDE America (the Chess Body for the Americas). We also have 2 FIDE Arbiters in Mr. Rawlson Paul and Trevor Flower.<\/p>\n<p>All our work would be impossible without sponsorship so we must thank our many sponsors including lead sponsors First Citizens Asset Management, Ministry of Sports &amp; Rhand Credit Union.
