National Rapid 2023

The tournament will be FIDE Rated.

Registration will be taken online up to 20th October, 2023 no later than 9 pm and NOT on the day of the tournament.

Time Control: 15 mins plus 10-sec increment

Default time is 15 minutes for each round

Pairings will be shown on Chess-Results.
The tournament will be played as a Minimum (7) seven, Maximum (9) rounds

Default time is 10 minutes.
Players defaulting 2 games will be withdrawn from the tournament.

1st Place – $1500
2nd Place – $1000
3rd Place – $700

Female
1st Place – $800
2nd Place – $500
3rd Place – $300

Tie Breaks: TBD

Flash photography may only be taken in the first 5 minutes of each round unless specified otherwise by the Chief Arbiter. Only the players, media and arbiters shall be allowed access to the playing area unless specified otherwise by the Chief Arbiter.

As long as a game is in progress, a player may talk only to an Arbiter or to his opponent as permitted by the laws of Chess

Appeals procedure: Any protest against the Chief Arbiter decisions must be submitted in writing to the chair of the Appeals Committee within 10 minutes after the completion of the playing session. The protest must be lodged by the player and it has to be accompanied by a sum of $100 as a deposit from the signatory. If the appeal is refused, the deposit will be forfeited. The Appeal Committee’s decisions are final.
